Believe me when I say that RED Camp 4 has been an absolutely amazing and unforgettable journey for us, the student leaders and staff of NP. Believe me also, when I say that you guys have been the most crazy, loud, energetic and almost scary bunch of RED Campers we've ever had!

You've all come a long way, haven't you? This blog has been up here since your mugging days for the dreadful exams, it has records of our preparation for the camp, pictures and rants from the 3 days of camp itself, not forgetting the outings all of the tribes had after that, and then the well wishes for your release of results, and now... in this likely last post here ever... we just once again, want to wish each and every one of you precious people ALL THE VERY BEST FOR YOUR POSTING.

The posting results will be out on Tuesday, and I really do hope that you will guys will be happy wherever you are posted to. Work very very hard, and the hardworking will be duly rewarded! :)

We would also like to thank you all for your enthusiastic participation thus far... all we really hope for is that you guys enjoyed yourselves, and that you got to make more friends through the camp! :)

Hello there!

Nerve-wrecking day today, wasn't it? :) I can totally understand! Well, I really hope you guys are happy with your results!

Over the next few days, you might find yourselves mulling over where you should head next, which institutions you should go to... And if you're like me, you might even be weighing out all the pros and cons of each possibility, which is a MAJOR headache!

For some of you who are already clear of where you want to go, what you want to do, good for you! It's really great that you are sure of your goals at this point. Saves yourselve from a lot of trouble too, eh? :)

For those of you who are still rather clueless, I'd think that the most important thing to bear in mind (as cliche as it sounds) is to follow your heart and your interests. Through experience, I strongly believe that when you are really passionate and have genuine interest in what you are doing, then you can excel naturally.

With that, I really wish you guys ALL THE VERY BEST for your posting results, and I am crossing my fingers that you guys will get to do what you want! Remember, choose for youself, not for others! :)

THE DAY IS TOMORROW!

Dearest RED Campers!

I'm excited and nervous and anxius for you all at the same time! Tomorrow will be your results day... it's like judgement day or something isn't it?

I remember when I was taking my O Level results, I used to think that the day seemed like the day where the final verdict was to be read out in a court case. Haha! But my dears, allow me to dispense a few words of advise, from the "old bird". Here goes...

Don't fret! Relax!
You know, most of the time your results are really not as bad as you think they will be. It's just human nature to think the worse of everything. I thought I'd be too ashamed to come home after getting the "verdict", but the truth of the matter was that it wasn't that bad! And it wasn't just me, it was the same with a lot of my friends, and I am sure for many other students as well!

Just go and have plenty of rest tonight... and don't allow yourself to think so much until tomorrow. All I can say is really, ALL THE VERY VERY BEST! You know you've worked very hard and the knowledge that you've gained is not necessarily directly reflected in your results. What I'm trying to say is...

Sometimes, your results may not be as impressive as others, but that does not mean that you are academically less inclined than him / her. Remember, it's not always the results that matter, but the PROCESS of which you went through - that's where you know you really learned a lot!

Hey there people!

Hope you guys enjoyed the RED Camp Special programme. I must say it was rather emotional for me even towards the end because we all knew that it would be difficult to organise another event after you guys get your results and make your decisions to go to different institutions of study.

So we wanted to make it as memorable as possible... The RED Camp Speical Programme people out in a lot of effort and time into planning the event, so did the skit people spend a lot of time pratising the skit over and over again just to perfect it. We all hope it was good for you!

Our gates will be open for you from 11am onwards. We've got shuttle buses catered for you guys from the Clementi MRT Station. The service will start from 11am onwards, so bring your friends along with you to find out even more about our school than you did at RED Camp 4.

Yesterday was the day we met up with the student delegates from each of our academic schools to teach them to the RED Camp Mass Dance... so that during Open House they will be rocking it with us!

CRAZY, CRAZY TIME WE HAD! :D

The day started with the Student Leaders meeting as early as 10am at the school Atrium to go through the Mass Dance once more, before we bring NP to the streets!

But then........

We started hearing rumbles of thunder from a distance...

And sure enough it started raining...

So then we moved on to Plaza Singapura!And the weather really wasn't in our favour...

But that's not a problem at all, because...

We found our own sources of entertainment!

Hello everyone!

by now, most of you would probably have heard of the event on 5th January 2008. Part of our post-RED Camp activities, here are the details of a fun-filled day planned for everyone. We're all gonna be MOBBERS at Orchard Rd!

Abit of trivia, "MOBBERS" is actually a term coined from 2 words, MOBile and BuskERS. This is essentially an event where we're all gonna busk at different locations. What better form of entertainment to provide for everyone around us (and ourselves!) than..... MASS DANCE!!!

We've made arrangements with Ngee Ann City and Plaza Singapura to provide us with the space for ALL of us (SLs and REDCampers alike) to daaaanceee.

ACWS (Apache Camp Withdrawl Symptoms)

As promised, here are some of the photos taken from the APACHE Camp in Ngee Ann Poly on 21st - 22nd Dec 07!

We began with the GREAT APACHE RACE after everyone settled down!

And after the whole night of fun and glamour at the party, we all went back to our dorms for movie screenings all night long (or till we fell asleep!). We watched "Shutter", "High School Musical 2", "Enchanted" and many other shows!

The next day began with the epic SL VS Campers Telematch!

In the end, it was a draw between the Campers and the SLs! But most importantly, the line stretched all the way from the Library at NP Orchard Road till the Swimming Pool, even stretching across the pedestrian crossing!

After the games concluded, we all returned to our dorms to pack our stuff and get ready for home.

But whats an REDCAMP-ish APACHE CAMP without CHEERS!!!!

Let’s see… it’s been almost a month since we’ve met up. So it’s high time we get to see each other again altogether, with ALL 5 tribes combined! Otherwise, your official outings will be with your own tribe… so ALL THE MORE you should come!

Tell me why, tell me why the Monsoon has to come at the end of the year, when in Poly we're having our common tests and assignment deadlines lurking at every corner?!?! You guys get to be the lucky ones, no projects to worry about, no late nights fighting the drowsiness..

One bad thing, and one good thing.

Bad thing first. Its a Monday and Mondays are the worst days of anyone's week, isn't it so? It's the thought of all the things that you have to complete before we reach the very divine Fridays that drives me nuts on Mondays.

Good thing is that since Mondays are quite a drag, I always console myself by plopping onto one of those big beanies in the school library, armed with a copy of Archie and Friends or just any good read to make me crack up. My friends and I'll then get ourselves a cup of Green Apple Red Tea with Jelly and Chocolatey Waffles. Hmmm... Sweet indulgence!

Then, during our 1 hour we'll hop over to Island Creamery, our favourite near-school hang out for some really unbelieveably tasty ice-cream. The ice-cream there is indescribably fantastic!

Hey, acutally... Mondays in NP aren't that bad after all right?

It'll not only be the Apaches ya! The Vikings will be out to burn some villages, while the Centurions will be marching into battle. The Ninjas and the Spartans (aka Spajas?), I heard that they might be joining forces to do a feast.

Last week alone, I spent 3 days Not sleeping at home, can you imagine that? Talking about RED Camp Withdrawal Symptoms (RCWS), haha. We stayed over 2 nights in a row at Keann's home on 27th and 28th Nov, where we had one of our Apache Outings!

RED CAMPERS YO!!!

How's everyone! I sincerely apologise for the lack of posts the past 2 days because we've all been quite caught up with preparations for our common tests. But rest assured from now on this blog will be updated daily! Yes, you can count on my word for that! =D

So really now, HOW ARE YOU!?!? Have you all got your voices back? Have you rested your poor legs well enough? Betcha you did! Haha. Oh well the student leaders we all miss you like crazy! I went back to school on Monday and first thing that hit my mind was ... "This is weird. Something's missing. Suddenly the school's a lot quieter, and all those brightly coloured shirts and big big tribes moving and cheering on impressively were all lacking! =D

But hey! Enjoy the rest of your loooongggg break while you can. While you all are still so very free, keep checking up on this blog for updates on tribal outings / RED Camp outings! We are really dying to meet up with you all bunch of fun and crazy people once again, and do that stomp and yelling and everything mad once again, haha!

Matt's got some really nice RED Camp pics up on his blog, and I reckon everyone here's prolly already know the link, so you can go grab them! I have yet to get my hands on pictures from the professional photographers, I promise a few of the best shots by the end of this week though ;)

Hello Dearest RED Campers!

How are you guys all doing? Had enough rest after the camp? I sure did, after slumbering into the late afternoon of Saturday... Felt so so so good! lol! But of course I'm sure we're all still suffering from the RED Camp withdrawal symptoms...

Like when I was on my way out this morning, I saw a girl in green and the first thing that came to my mind was "Vikings" and then another guy in yellow and immediately the words "Centurions" came into my mind.

And my voice is still husky from all that screaming, and my feet! My feet, gosh how they hurt now, because we walked and jumped and danced so much I'm now nursing multiple blisters.

But I tell you, this is all worth it for all the fun and friendships built during the camp. I've gotten to know so many new precious people and I'm sure you have too! =)

RED Camp Day 1

The day started with red campers donned in tribe-coloured shirts streaming into the NP convention centre. From 8am onwards, the place was kept blustling with red campers cheering on enthusiastically. The place was livened up and very quickly all you red campers got comfortable in the convention and were all hyped up!

The event opening by Baracudas was such a stunner! Not to forget of course, the skit put up by our very own student leaders!

CCA Fiesta was one of the highlights, and redcampers were all trying out hip hop dancing, uni-cycling and so many other CCAs with the student leaders...

It's been a fun-filled day and we promise the next 2 days will be the same, if not even better! See you all at red camp!

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!

RED CAMP IS HERE!!!

Just... 11 hours more and we'll all be meeting each other! Can you wait anymore? I can't! I can't! You see, after months of preparation and hard work, we can't wait to just let the fun side of ourselves loose during the 3 days of camp, starting tomorrow!

And just as I promised... let me just show you a few pictures because I know we've been keeping you guys in suspense perhaps a little too much with regards to the programmes that we will be having... WELL after all, you have to come down yourself to experience the whole thing and meet the people here (who are almost literally bursting with energy already) to really know how worth your time the next 2 days at Ngee Ann Poly will really be.

2 days 2 days 2 days! In exactly less than 48 hours, we will all be at NP, finally seeing each other after months of chatting online, tag-board chatting, and emails!

I've often wondered how you all would be like, you know... after seeing each other online but without really seeing each other in the physical body... the curiousity is almost unbearable! Lol. Anyway, that's besides the point. Point is...

RED CAMP IS DRAWING SO SO NEAR!

Just today, we had a mass briefing for all student leaders... there's about 300 over of us... to practise our cheers, to do the mass dance, and to once again meet up with our own tribes before we see you guys! After months of preparation, all the student leaders are all revved up and ready for the camp.

I know I promised photos and videos, it will be up tomorrow night, just before RED Camp 4! Meanwhile, do get your respective coloured shirts, it will be really cool to see that every tribe is made out of distinct colours!

And also, I should not forget that this is all going to be so so different from all other camps organised by other tertiary institutes because RED Camp 4 is going to be SIMPLY THE BEST. We promise you an unforgettable time!

Let's All Cheer! Because the DREADED Os are finally over!! WOOHOO~!

haha, and i'm all excited because it means we're all very very close to RED Camp 4, i really can't wait to meet all of you!

As this will be my second time taking part RED Camp as a student leader, I can't help but think back of what happened in last year's RED Camp 3.

O My, all the fun and excitment we had then.

Below is actually our Farewell Video done up by a team of Student Leaders last year, to sum up what happened during RED Camp 3. And when we screened it to all RED Campers and Student Leaders during the Camp Finale, I was quite sure it had quite a lingering effect on people. Because most of us refused to leave the hall till around 2 hours lateer!

You should really come down and see what the student leaders are up to these days. The school is practically bustling in lieu of the final preparations for RED Camp 4. Renovations are rushing to be completed, decorations are to be put up very soon, final arrangements for shuttle buses for more convenient travelling for all campers, perfecting every performance item that will be showcased during the camp...

WE ARE ALL SO READY! ARE YOU???

It's just so exciting, especially day 3 of RED Camp! Have you heard of DJ Andrew Chow? If you haven't its ok - you just have to know that he is a renowned spinner who will be crashing in at HOP NITE and so totally rock the camp! Not to mention oogle-worthy performances by our very own CCA groups and NP's very own talent Paul Twohill!

You will also get to get your hands on all the different course facilities, so that we hope that will give you a better idea of where you want to head to after your results are out!

By now, you would have found out which tribe you belong to, wouldn't you? Each tribe has its own strengths and capabilities, and together, we will rock RED Camp 4! Here's a quick insight...

APACHES

More commonly known as the Red Indians, Apaches are the indigenous people from North America. The Apachean tribes were powerful tribespeople, fierce warriors and skillful strategists. They are also known to be extremely versant hunters who never fail to hit their target with the deadly bow-and arrow weapon. For many years since recorded history, Apaches have and will continue to be held together closely by a strong sense of unity.

Centurions

Centurions are famously known and respected as the high-ranking commanders in the ancient Roman Army. They are capable and strong leaders who led the Roman Infantry from the front, inspiring their men by example. Courageous warriors, these fighters are not to be easily defeated. Centurions are highly responsible commanders who fight alongside their soldiers, at the same time guarding them from harm.

NINJA

Trained for dangerous missions, Ninjas are extremely agile and quick fighters of ancient Japan. Known as one of the best masters of defence, ninjas are warriors in all senses. Their swift tactics and weapons are partially derived from the need to conceal or defend themselves from their enemies. An undaunting fighting spirit and a quick mind, Ninjas are invinsible combat masters. Yataaaaa!

SPARTANS

Trained from infancy to be brave and unfearing warriors, these ancient Greece soldiers form a valiant and valorous army who have fought countless victorious battles. Spartans are deeply committed and loyal soldiers who follow are obedient to their laws. The Spartans' undying loyalty to their homeland is highy commendable and regarded. They are true inheritors of the Greek tradition "Return Victorious or return dead". Ahwooo!

VIKINGS

Vicious and bloodthirsty, industrious and heroic. Vikings are daring masters of the sea, ferocious and warlike in their battles. Agile and quick in their movement, Vikings fight audaciously on both land and sea. Their expeditions often concluded with victorious results. Known for their intimidating horned helmets, they are also strong-hearted warriors who are not to be offended. Arrrrrrrrr!

So how has O levels been? Good, eh? By the time you read this, most of you would have been long liberated and be so so happy. Good for you! ;)

Now is the time for our Blog Contest #5. Congratulations to all of those who have sent in your entries so far, and of course to those who have WON yourself prizes! Now here's the deal for the third contest...

Since the Os are finally over for sure, and we are just 10 days away from RED Camp 4! By now, I'm sure you guys already know which tribes you are all in. We've got 5 in total - Apache, Centurion, Ninja, Spartan, Viking. Which one are you in?

Send in a picture to us depicting yourself and something significant to your tribe (e.g. For Apache it could be a bow and arrow / for Ninja it could be a bandana or sword). We leave the options open to you. It could be a piece of drawing by you, it could be you clad in a cape and brandishing a sword in your hands... Zi Qian: "I hope that i can get a job real soon so that i can start cracking and get the lazy bug off me. i want to go red camp real soon and also in the mean time.. I am thinking of learning new dance moves like the baby freeze I did.. Daydreaming one day i can offically teach taekwondo.. Now all i can do is daydreaming cause I still got a last paper to go... Just A Little Thought =)

Hey guys!

I was on my way to school today, thinking: "Oh man, if only Friday was a holiday too, then we can all have a loooong weekend!" Then I thought back about how I've only got about half a semester left here at NP and I went "Gosh noooo. I haven't enjoyed myself enough!"

So yes, it's all pretty much personal because there's just so much I've experienced and learned while I'm here, and I hope that while you're here for RED Camp 4, we SLs can share that much of our experience with you. :)

Anyways, I can't believe you guys will be totally liberated by tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday I was blogging and telling you all to buck up and go all for it, sending my regards - and now, BOOM - you're all going to be free and happy!

Well guys, enjoy your well deserved break and holiday for all your hard work's worth. Go party yourselves crazy, treat yourself to some good food and movies and catch up on all the lost sleep! I'm soooo envious......... LOL.

Still On and Going!

Hello there!

Yes we know something must have gone wrong in blogger, because we've lost all the previous posts, but we're getting the problem rectified as soon as possible, so no worries! And no matter what, we will still keep blogging DAILY as promised - only because there's just so much to talk about and expect for RED Camp 4! And that is one thing that will not change!

The contests and posts will still go on. Guys, remember, contest #4 ("My Big Plans") is all about sending in pictures to give us an idea of what you really really want to do after your exams. We've had a number of entries already, but still keep sending in because judging will be on Sunday! :D

As for RED Camp updates... Here's the exciting part. By know you would all have found out what tribes you guys are in already... Woo!
